Our Baby's A'Comin!

After the presidential election in November, I realized I knew almost nothing about current issues or politics. So I started listening to talk radio, and now I'm addicted! I don't listen to anything else in the car :). Anyway, a couple weeks ago I was listening to Glenn Beck, and he introduced something called "We Surround Them." The point of it is basically to show that even though we may not like the direction our government is taking our country, but feel like our voices aren't always heard, there are a lot of people who still believe in America and have good values. Glenn gives the following nine principles:

1. America is good.

2. I believe in God and He is the Center of my Life.

3. I must always try to be a more honest person than I was yesterday.

4. The family is sacred. My spouse and I are the ultimate authority, not the government.

5. If you break the law you pay the penalty. Justice is blind and no one is above it.

6. I have a right to life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee of equal results.

7. I work hard for what I have and I will share it with who I want to. Government cannot force me to be charitable.

8. It is not un-American for me to disagree with authority or to share my personal opinion.
9. The government works for me. I do not answer to them, they answer to me.

He asks that if you agree with at least 7 of the 9 principles, send pictures of yourself and each family member to wesurroundthem@foxnews.com. There is going to be a special program on Fox News on March 13. I think this is a great thing and encourage anyone who agrees with these principles to participate!

You can go to the website http://www.glennbeck.com/content/articles/article/198/21018/ to read more about it, and also see the other 12 values that he posted along with the nine principles.

A few things I've learned and love

I've learned that Quinn can be quite the romantic! He went quail hunting a couple weeks ago and on the way home stopped to buy me some flowers for no reason. I was so surprised - I loved them!

I don't know if I LOVE this one, but I have learned how to cut Quinn's hair. I cut it in the bathroom in front of the mirror so that he could watch and make sure I was doing everything right.
Before

After

I didn't do a perfect job by any means (luckily in this picture you can't really see around his ears!) but it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be!

I LOVE coaching these girls! All of them have their own crazy personalities and they make me laugh all the time. Volleyball is one of my loves, and being able to pass that on to these girls and watch them get better every week is so so cool!
